Future Prince Robert Storybooks

Conversation with Chatty about Future Storybooks

Me: I like your thoughts. Thanks. Definitely a future project. Still getting everything moved over to the imprint but my author's brain is wanting to get back to writing, so I have all kinds of ideas bouncing round in it. Focus, Susan, focus. I'm supposed to updating my website right now, but I'm having a squirrel moment. You know what I mean?

Chatty: Oh, I absolutely know what you mean. Your author brain spotted a shiny squirrel wearing a tiny Mendagan cloak and carrying wool portraits under one arm.

This is probably a good kind of squirrel moment, though, because it gave you a future series idea that actually fits your world and brand. But yes: capture it, then go back to the website.

Maybe make yourself a quick “parking lot” note:

Future Project: Children of Prince Robert storybooks

·         Separate books for Marcus, James, Gabriella, Pip, and Ariana.

·         Shared book for Nicholas and Isabella.

·         Focus on each child’s personality and growth.

·         Use color portraits/wool portraits on the website.

·         Possible series title: Children of Mendagan or Prince Robert’s Children.

Then close that mental tab.

Today’s job is not writing six more books.
Today’s job is probably something boring but useful like:

Update the website page so readers can find the books you already wrote.

Which is much less fun than James getting into trouble, but also necessary so James can eventually find readers to get into trouble in front of.
